#Fitaly Funday… it’s like “Fitaly Sunday” with your mouth full.

Just a quick update for those of you embarking on the #Fitaly fun with me:

I know. It’s not Friday.

I’m feeling constrained by the limitations I set on myself to post on Fridays, via the fun F alliteration I have going on. Turns out Fridays are kinda hectic in the office, so here I am on Fitaly Funday… which is what Sunday would sound like if you had your mouth full of cappelletti in brodo… which I do.

In my defense, I am sick, and the broth cures my ailments. The cappelletti don’t hurt either. I’m subscribing to the local beliefs this week: “Pan, parsùt, figa, e lambrùsc”. Well, not all of them.

SO, the update is this: I’m at F – 5 kg !!!! Woot woot. Ok, not quite on target, but not completely off either. Now I just have to figure out how my mess of interconnected profiles on MapMyFitness, MyFitnessPal, FitBit and Withings can untangle into something legible. Also… MUST get them to stop auto-tweeting every time I step on the scale. NOT COOL, people. Not cool.

Your turn, group! Who wants to check in and help keep me accountable? You don’t have to post your F score if you don’t want to – just tell me what you’ve been up to in the past couple of weeks to keep yourselves motivated. Any yummy Italian recipes that don’t involve large amounts of pork fat glued to your thighs?

Hit me!

    • ooooh, yes, my husband will be horrified, but I bet I could slip it in front of his nose without mentioning the substitution… never heard of Quorn before, thanks for the heads up! There are actually quite a few accepted uses of mushroom in place of meat here. We would, of course, NOT be able to call it “Bolognese”. Wars might erupt. 🙂
Your site looks quite useful, as a matter of fact. Thanks for commenting!

  1. Well…….I thought: minestrone. That’s just vegetables, right? Wrong! Completely tasteless without lashings of Parmigiano on top. It’s a struggle!

    • of course! Minestrone is not Minestrone without NOT ONLY the grated Parmigiano-Reggiano on top, BUT ALSO you’re forgetting the chunks of Parmigiano-Reggiano rind that are dropped right therein the broth as if they are carrots or something… mmmmmm…. 🙂

  2. BLASFEMY!!! This is wrong on so many levels that I don’t know where to begin with…On second thought, let’s start from the beginning: there’s NO such thing as “spaghetti alla bolognese” in Bologna!!!!!
